Notice is hereby given that the Council, at the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 25 August 2025, resolved to prepare ‘Local Planning Policy DP26 – Requirements for Local Planning Scheme Amendments’ pursuant to Clause 4 of the Deemed Provisions of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.
The purpose of DP26 is to provide clear guidance on the information required for Standard and Complex Scheme Amendments, establish circumstances where preliminary (non-statutory) community consultation may be appropriate, and enhance transparency and early stakeholder engagement. DP26 seeks to ensure alignment with the City’s strategic planning framework while giving proponents greater clarity on the process and providing opportunities to resolve issues before the formal Scheme Amendment process commences.
Details of DP26 are available for inspection on the City of Karratha website or during office hours at the City of Karratha Administration Office located at Welcome Road, Karratha.
Submissions may be lodged in writing to the City of Karratha, PO Box 219, Karratha WA 6714 or via email to submissions@karratha.wa.gov.au on or before 4:30 pm Tuesday 30 September 2025.
